Why speed matters here
ATO debt costs more than it used to. From 1 July 2025, the general interest charge (GIC) and shortfall interest charge are no longer tax-deductible, so every dollar of GIC now comes straight out of after-tax profit. Collection activity is also firmer. Garnishee notices, director penalty notices and disclosure of business tax debts to credit bureaus can hit quickly. Clearing the debt, or bringing it under your control, protects your credit file, your directors and your supplier relationships.
How we can fund it
Property-secured
If you own property, a caveat or second-mortgage loan can clear even large tax debts, and lodgements don't have to be up to date. We don't need financials, and bad credit is considered.
Up to $5M · as little as 24 hrs · no financials
Cash-flow loan
If you're trading well but fell behind on BAS, a cash-flow loan based on your bank statements can clear a smaller debt within hours. It's often cheaper than letting GIC compound.
From bank statements · as little as 2 hrs
What helps us move fastest
- Your ATO statement of account or the amount owing
- Any garnishee or director penalty notice (we prioritise these)
- Property details if you own real estate
- Recent business bank statements for a cash-flow loan
A labour-hire firm facing a director penalty notice
A Brisbane labour-hire business owed $265,000 in PAYG withholding and super after a large client collapsed. With a director penalty notice issued, the director used a caveat over her investment property. The debt was cleared in two days and the penalty never took effect.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a business loan with an existing ATO debt?
Yes. ATO debt doesn't rule you out with us. On property-secured loans, the equity does most of the work. On cash-flow loans, we look at your current trading.
Is it better to take a loan or an ATO payment plan?
It depends on the amount, your cash flow and your timeline. Payment plans still attract GIC, and since 1 July 2025 GIC isn't tax-deductible. A short-term loan can cost less overall and stops escalation. Ask your accountant to compare the two with our quote.
What happens if I can't pay my BAS on time?
The ATO charges GIC on the overdue amount and may issue garnishee or director penalty notices, or report business tax debt to credit bureaus. Acting early gives you the most options.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. There's no cost to apply or check your eligibility. All costs are set out in writing in your loan offer before you sign anything.
